The CILE, Compagnie Intercommunale Liégeoise des Eaux, is located in Liège and founded in 1913. It is one of the largest Water Distribution facilities in Belgium, providing water for more than 650.000 people over 23 communities. La CILE has more than 500 water pump stations, water reservoirs and underground water resources covering more than 3.000 km.
Since the start of the delivering and transport of water in the 30's, the Company made a point of having the latest measurement system for supervising and controlling the network functioning. Until early nineties, this was mainly done with manual interventions, waiting for end-user phone calls in case of water leaks.
In 1989 a new project was started with the following priorities:
• Automatic remote measurement and control of the entire network with less human resources.
• Automatic alarm management 24h/day with Pager systems
• Automatic control of the pumping stations.
• Automatic data transfer to central systems.
• Real-time information about water-distribution.
• Quick identifying of water leaks.
To receive all this information the CILE chose the Tbox after a thorough investigation..
Today more than 170 T-Box outstations are connected by PSTN modems and more than 80 stations via HF modems with the central computer.

Today more than 170 T-Box outstations are connected by PSTN modems and more than 80 stations via HF modems with the central computer.
By choosing T-Box, the CILE not only worked with a system standard on the market that is easy to program but also could consult the experience in remote system integration, a standard of the T-Box.
The main advantages for CILE using T-Box are
• Real time information about their network
• Daily statistical information
• Automatic invoicing with the real consumption
• Fast technical interventions thanks to the Pager alarming system
• Remote commands for set-point changing
• Fast discovery of leaks
